Batman Day is almost upon us, and that means there’s going to be a lot of great announcements related to the Dark Knight. One of those announcements has already been made, as it was announced that three of the best Batman movies will be returning to theaters for the annual holiday. Batman: The Mask of the Phantasm, Batman (1989) and Batman is back will be re-released in theaters on September 17.

Anyone who happens to live near a Cinemark can go and see all three Batman movies on the 17th. In fact, if done right, fans of The Bat can go watch all three movies marathon-style, as they have a specific time when they must be released at Cinemark. The three films will be released at 2:15 pm (Mask of the Phantasm), 16:30 (Batman) and 19:25 (Batman is back), all local time in any city in the United States that has a participating Cinemark.

Michael Keaton

Those looking forward to seeing Michael Keaton as Batman in future DCEU films can see what made his time as Bruce Wayne so special. Both Batman and Batman is back are part of this celebration and the two see Keaton confront Cape and Kaula. Mask of the Phantasm is the only animated movie of the three, but it’s a pretty beloved DC movie.

Michael Keaton was to reprise his role as Batman in Batgirl movie, but that movie was unceremoniously cut by Warner Bros. Discovery. This sent shockwaves through the film world as many were confused by the move made by WBD CEO David Zaslav. Batgirl was also going to be the return of Brendan Fraser as Firefly, but that unfortunately won’t happen.

Although Batgirl was canceled, DC may not be stuck in a holding pattern with its remaining comic properties. Shazam 2, Aquaman 2, The lightningand Black Adam are set to shape the DC film universe going forward, and we can’t wait to see what they have in store. Matt Reeves, director of The Batmanhas also signed a multi-film deal that will see Robert Pattinson return as The Caped Crusader.

Despite the problems that WBD may have faced, we can all bask in the glory of the earlier films that helped shape the early days of superhero movies. Mask of the Phantasm, Batmanand Batman is back all deserve another viewing in theaters, and now fans who missed them the first time around can see them in theaters on September 17th.

DC has announced that the annual DC Fandome event will be canceled this year, but could that mean we’ll be getting more Batman Day announcements? This is probably not the case as we received small messages Batman 2on Penguin series, and Joker 2. Still, it would be great to see what other surprises we can see that day.

For now, anyone can purchase tickets for this special Batman Day marathon from Cinemark’s website. Many theaters are participating in the event and you can find a theater near you by visiting the website.
