It wasn’t that long ago that the most exciting and innovative men’s look one could expect to wear on the red carpet at an awards show was a navy tuxedo or a white blazer. Timeless, stylish, duh. Fortunately, A-list men today are branching out, embracing colors, patterns and cuts that go way beyond expectations and embellishing them with embellishments and stunning accessories to create fashion moments that are truly worthy.
On the first big red carpet of awards season — tonight’s Golden Globes — the guys pulled out all the stops, from Colman Domingo’s embellished, all-black ensemble to a big revival of unique blue suits, here are our favorite men’s looks from the big night.
Domingo added some sparkle to his black monochromatic look with sparkling all-over embellishments.
Gleeson went classic, choosing a navy tuxedo with satin lapels and a matching bow tie.
Monochrome has had a major moment on the red carpet, as seen on Irish actor Barry Keoghan, who donned an all-over sky blue shade for his Golden Globes style.
The Hacks and Ugly Betty the actor stunned in a butter brocade suit with long tresses.
The Top Gun: Maverick the actor cut a dramatic figure in all black.
The Fableman the star chose a periwinkle blue hue for his three-piece suit and bow tie.
Blue also featured prominently on the red carpet, but instead of the expected hues like navy, men opted for less common hues like this sapphire blue velvet blazer on Hauser.
