Selena Gomez and her sister make a fashion statement at the Golden Globes; full list of winners

Selena Gomez showed up at the Golden Globes for her first nomination and made a fashion statement on the red carpet.

The Grand Prairie native was up for Best Performance by an Actress in a Television Series, Comedy or Musical for her role as Mabel Mora in Only murders in the building. Quinta Brunson (Abbott Elementary School) became the winner.

Gomez wore a strapless burgundy velvet Valentino dress with a high slit, ruffled sleeves and a long train. She wore Santoni stiletto heels and De Beers diamonds.

Hairstylist Marissa Marino created a high ponytail.

Gomez, 30, was accompanied by her 9-year-old sister Gracie Elliot Teefey, who wore a gold dress paired with matching heels and a sparkly purse.

The sisters showed off their stylish looks as Selena embraced Gracie on the red carpet as they posed for a photo shoot.

The stars returned for the Golden Globes’ return to television on Tuesday, walking what was effectively a soggy gray carpet (thanks to the weather) in relatively predictable looks — with a few notable exceptions.

Gomez was close to her sisters. Last August in Elle magazine, Gomez said that Gracie puts things in perspective.

“I basically got to watch this little person grow into a human being and there’s no better feeling in the world,” Gomez said. Elle. “I feel like a parent even though I’m not. It’s so rewarding to see that life was so simple at one point, and I want to enjoy life the way she enjoys life someday.”

In December, Gomez stopped by the Pocket Sandwich Theater in Carrollton to see her half-sister Victoria Gomez perform in Ebenezer Scrooge.

The winners

Golden Globe winners include Austin Butler z ElvisColin Farrell of Banshees of Inisherin and Angela Bassett of Black Panther: Wakanda Forever. Michelle Yeoh and Ke Huy Quan received awards for Everything and everywhere at once.

On the TV side, Quinta Brunson and Tyler James Williams won for their work on Abbott Elementary Schoolwhich scored Best TV Comedy, and Jeremy Allen White was named Best Actor in a Comedy for a Leading Role Bear. Guillermo del Toro’s Pinocchio was the best animated film, Steven Spielberg won the best director award for it The Fabelmans and Zendaya won for Best Actress in a Television Drama Series Euphoria.

Kevin Costner, star Yellowstonewon Best Actor in a Drama Series. Yellowstone is co-created by Weatherford resident Taylor Sheridan.
