Mark Harmon is incredibly active and long before he was a famous actor he was an athlete – so fitness and sports were always part of his lifestyle.

Ex NCIS star rarely gives interviews, but has previously opened up about his love of fitness, revealing that he discovered a new passion in the process of pilates after suffering a shoulder injury.
In a chat with Men’s Journal, the father-of-two revealed he’s a big fan of working out, saying: ‘I’m totally kicking it. [I had a] shoulder injury [that drew me to Pilates]. The physical therapist I went to was all about it. They’ll kick your ass on these machines.”

He continued, “I was a big runner after college — I was doing 60 to 70 mile weeks every week. I wish I had some of that back now.” [Pilates] it’s about controlling the machine, and that’s twice as hard.”

A talented sports actor turned actor a household name for many years but he made a brave decision not to use social media.
In an interview with TV Insider, he previously mentioned the reason why he chose Instagram or Twitter.
Mark Harmon discovered his love for Pilates after an injury
He said of his and wife Pam Dawber’s privacy: “We are who we are. We stay at home. A lot. I’m not a Twitter or Facebook guy. Our sons aren’t into that either. Pam and I both created this business for a living, and yet she’s the part that just isn’t natural.’

Mark and Pam tied the knot in 1987 and are loving parents to two sons – Sean and Ty. Sean and Ty followed in their parents’ footsteps in the industry.
Ty works as a screenwriter while Sean is an actor. Since 2008, he has appeared in NCIS as a young Leroy Jethro Gibbs in flashback episodes. He has appeared in seven episodes of the show to date, with his most recent cameo being in the 2020 episode Everything Begins Somewhere.

Mark’s fans were devastated when he left his role as Leroy Gibbs on NCIS in season 19 of the popular show, and fans always wonder whether or not Gibbs will return to NCIS in the future.

He opened up about his decision to quit the program almost a year after leaving the show for a special featurette on the series’ DVD release on 19.
He sat down to discuss his character’s legacy, as well as his thoughts on how the show wrapped up his storyline, admitting that the opportunity to tackle “fresh” and “challenging” material is what keeps him coming back to the drama every the season. , alluding to the possibility that he felt he no longer felt that was the case after nearly two decades on the show.
