Lauren Conrad is closing her lifestyle blog after 11 years: ‘It’s been a long time coming’

The Hills alum Lauren Conrad announced Monday that she is shutting down the lifestyle blog on her LaurenConrad.com website after 11 years and will no longer post on the @laurenconradco Instagram account.

“The truth is that being a designer has always been my first love. And as the business has grown over the years, I’ve had less time to devote to this blog,” explained the 36-year-old Laguna Beach native.

“I always strive for a healthy work-life balance, and when I’m not designing for LC Lauren Conrad and Little Co., I prefer to spend most of my free time with my husband and children.”

Lauren has two sons – Liam James, 5; and Charlie Wolf, 3 — from her eight-year marriage to musician William Tell, whom she began dating in 2012.

“It’s been a tough decision and a long time ahead of us, but it’s time to say goodbye to the blog here at LaurenConrad.com. Fortunately, there are still plenty of ways to keep up with my current projects,” continued Conrad, who boasts 11.1 million followers on social media.

‘The editorial archives will be there for you, so you’ll always have access to your favorite recipes, DIY tutorials and more. I am forever grateful for all the support you have given this site over the years.”

Conrad’s former co-star Heidi Montag Pratt wants to invite her to the podcast Kast Was It Real? where he will recap the second season of MTV’s The Hills alongside Brody Jenner, Audrina Patridge and Frankie Delgado.

“I would love to sit there and talk to Lauren about everything,” the Colorado-born 36-year-old told ET on Dec. 14.

Things kind of went downhill from there.  But then we didn't communicate that much.  But I think for us, we're both moms and things are different, so I feel like one day... I mean, I've talked to her since The Hills after.  I have no hard feelings.  I certainly wish her the best
