What is The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power regarding?

The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power is based on the novels by JRR Tolkien and will be directed by Wayne Yip, JA Bayona and Charlotte Brändström, with JD Payne and Patrick McKay as the leads. The announced cast for the series includes Cynthia Addai-Robinson, Morfid Clarke, Peter Mullen, Ismael Cruz Cordova, Robert Aramaio, Tristan Gravel, Benjamin Walker, Charles Edwards, Augustus Prew, Lenny Henry, Maxim Baldry, Thuzita Jayasundera, and others. The series will focus on an era of Middle-earth that has so far not been explored in modern adaptations, predating the events of The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring and beyond.

The latest trailer focuses on Galadriel, played by Morrifd Clarke, as well as multiple factions of Middle-earth, including the elves, dwarves, humans, and hobbits. We’ll also look at some of the monsters of Middle Earth. According to Amazon’s synopsis for the show, the story will take viewers from the Misty Mountains to the Isle of Númenor and beyond, exploring old and new settings for fans of the films.

The series will begin airing with weekly episodes on September 1. The first two episodes air at 9:00 PM EST on September 1, 2022.
