After great success Love IslandA style collaboration with eBay UK in 2022, stylist and vintage clothing expert Amy Bannerman is back with four new edits for this year’s batch of Islanders. For the winter Love Island In 2023, Bannerman focused on the fashion mindset of “reflective dressing”, in which she hopes to encourage viewers to “think about how they shop and how they dress”. As such, the edits are called Heavy Metal, Tutti Frutti, Business v. Party and Dressed Up Denim.
On eBay UK’s focus on sustainable fashion, he commented: “Following on from the impact the partnership had in the last series on changing the fashion conversation, we’re delighted to continue to push the dial with this new way of thinking. If we can inspire fans to buy or sell just one piece of their favorite clothing this year, we’re on the right track.”
Similar to 2022, Bannerman has put together a wardrobe of second-hand pieces for the contestants to wear, from bright and colorful items to rock’n’roll leathers. Some items have been reworked — dresses have been shortened and graphic prints have been added to designer pieces. Heavy metal
Inspired by the paired-down style of Kourtney Kardashian and Travis Barker — Kravis, this edit brings fans “ Love Island wardrobe to the dark side,” Bannerman said. She aims to bring “rebellious dressing back” with the collection, providing a range of options such as “metallic skirts, leather jackets and vintage t-shirts”. For the stylist, this makeover and “trend feeds into both self-expression and showcasing pre-loved classics that will last a lifetime.”
The collection fuses “classic heavy metal with contemporary fashion,” with Bannerman noting that designers “go OTT with palettes and crystal fringes” on the runway.

Tutti Frutti
Dopamine Dressing is back this year, but with a twist. Bannerman changed her focus to “all about pink, yellow, orange and blue integrated in an explosion of neon blazers and bright two-pieces,” rather than the Hawaiian florals and prints that clashed last summer.
Noting that more and more people are “dressing to lift the mood” and “avoid neutrals”, the stylist loves “how this trend really brings one’s personality to life” and that it can be achieved “so easily with a single statement item in an outfit or from tip to toe, depending on how brave you feel.’

Business versus party
This edit is all about “merging party wear with tailoring” for Bannerman. Take inspiration from Bella Hadid and Pete Davidson, and expect to see “luxe shirts with smarter trousers” and “crystal pieces paired with blazer dresses” as the Islanders get ready for the evening.
The vintage specialist took note of last year’s most sought-after trends to put together this collection, including oversized shirts, cropped blazers and shirt dresses.

Dressed denim
There’s nothing better than rocking double denim, and what better way to encourage breaking out your favorite pair of jeans or midi skirts than with ‘dressed denim’. Bannerman also hopes to encourage people to wear denim that “can be upcycled and give pieces a new life.”
Girls will find a treasure trove of “classic co-ords and fitted jumpsuits” in the villa’s closets, while boys will see “loose oversized shirts paired with long shorts.” As Bannerman rightly concluded, “there are so many ways you can wear denim.”
