Bachelor 2023

Felix was officially announced as one of the three leading men in the tenth season Bachelor in May 2022 alongside 25-year-old drummer Jed McIntosh and 35-year-old restaurant manager Thomas Malucelli.

In a statement to Channel Ten, Felix described himself as a “family man” and said the most attractive quality a girl can have is “a good sense of humour”.

“My dream date would be anything where it hurts to laugh because if we’re both laughing the whole time, it can’t get much better,” he said.

Felix revealed ahead of the season premiere on Monday night Yahoo Lifestyle that producers contacted him several times about becoming The Bachelor before he finally said yes.

“I got a message saying, ‘We think you’d be a good fit for what we’re looking for,’ and I didn’t respond to that,” he said. “And then there was another one that I didn’t answer and it still kind of bothered me. It wasn’t that I didn’t want to do it, I just never thought about doing any reality TV.

“And then I ended up doing my first Zoom call with one of the producers and I had a lot of fun with it, I absolutely loved it. And from then on I thought, you know what, I like the people here and it went from there. And then about 6 million Zoom calls later, we focused on that. But I knew three was quite early.”

‘Thrown Into The Deep End’

He added that the new season is “so representative of the real world”, with the traditional red carpet premiere swapped for a series of blind dates.

“The data isn’t extravagant, wild stuff that you’d never see people do, and it also highlights the awkwardness of it all,” he continued.

“Everybody’s been on a date that potentially didn’t go the way you wanted it to, and you see it at its rawest. Some of the dates were completely shit and it just fell flat and you only have 20 minutes and people are nervous when they’re on camera for the first time.

“We’ve just been thrown in at the deep end and I think that’s going to affect a lot of people. Whereas when you watch the previous seasons, it’s kind of like a fantasy land. There are good and bad sides to dating in the real world.’
